Endurance Training: The Fruits of Your Labor

I was asked by a few people to write a blog post about training for endurance events, like a marathon, while following a plant-based lifestyle.  Coincidentally I happen to be training for my 26th marathon which I will run in Buenos Aires, Argentina this coming October!  I went 100% plant-based long before I developed my distance running addiction, which means all of my prior 25 marathons were fueled completely by plants.  It's worth noting that despite all this running, I have never endured a running related injury to which I credit my plant-based lifestyle (and smart training of course).

Insane in the Membrane: Getting Lost to Find My Way Home

I'm sitting here enjoying one of the best soy iced lattes I've ever tasted, in Krak√≥w, Poland of all places, reflecting on my last 6 months of life and travel (I'm sorry, but you had to assume a 'halfway there' post was inevitable, right?).  It's hard to believe it's been one year since I first applied for and was accepted to Remote Year and gave a very courteous 4 month notice to my NYC employer.  It's even harder to believe that it's been 6 months since I boarded a plane at Logan Airport in Boston to start my Remote Year journey in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Move for your Health: 5K a day

Amongst the joy and love of the holidays, there is often also a lot of stress, family dysfunction, emphasis on consumerism and material goods and a whole lot of boozy nog parties, which can easily lead to over indulgence and self-neglect. It's times like these where we could probably benefit from knocking off resolutions most.  Whether you want to lose weight, exercise more, imbibe less or even just stay in better contact with friends, why not start now? Make yourself a resolution- start with something super attainable, but specific and continue to build the challenge as you go.  Success is more readily achievable when you incrementally expand on specific goals.
