7 Dangerously Common Nutrition Misconceptions

Welcome to the 3rd installment of my National Nutrition Month series. I'm writing this after spending a week traveling through Northern Vietnam where I feasted on an abundance of amazingly delicious healthy food options.  But WHAT IS healthy? There's an abundance of conflicting dietary information out there.  Choosing what to eat while being bombarded by advertisements, magazine articles and the persistent villanization of certain macronutrients that help keep the fad diet industry alive can be downright dizzying.  Carbs are bad, fat is good, wait, now fat is bad, protein is king or it doesn't really matter what you eat as long as calories in equal calories out.  Ahhhhh!!!!!

Pineapple

Pineapples are a composite of many flowers whose individual fruitlets fuse together around a central core. Each fruitlet can be identified by an 'eye' on the pineapples surface. If a flower or fruitlet is missing, the pineapple is no longer whole. Just as there are many individual components of a pineapple that need to join to form what we know as the whole fruit, there are many lifestyle factors that need to interact symbiotically to form a whole, healthy individual: nutritious food, exercise, job satisfaction, relationships, spirituality, stress management, sleeping habits, etc. My coaching model helps empower you to make positive changes in any of these areas that may be lacking to bring a more energized, healthy you to the surface. I conduct my sessions by phone or Skype, so location is not a limiting factor. Help me spread the word, friends!
