February 2017 Hit List

Nomadic Nourishment...

Last month I decided to compile a monthly 'hit list' of things in the wellness and travel world that are nourishing me each month- because nourishment is about so much more than food.  Here are the things that made me smile, think, celebrate and learn in February, 2017.

-Interested in following more of a plant-based lifestyle and want to learn about some of the health benefits? Watch this video.

-I love Four Sigmatic Mushroom Coffee.  It was started by two guys in Finland and provides the energy and mental clarity of coffee without the jitters, crash or heart burn.  You just mix a packet with boiling water and enjoy.  It even tastes like regular coffee.  Plus the Cordyceps version is an adaptogen, meaning it helps the mind and body with stress management, thereby restoring and balancing the body.  Try it out and let me know what you think!

-Eat 10 servings a day of this.

-I caught opening night of Hidden Figures in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  It was empowering and really eye opening.  How did I not learn about these people in school?!?!  It shows that we still have a long way to go, but these women were pretty badass.  By far one of the best movies I have seen in a long time.  Go watch it now.

-Project Made: I was lucky enough to befriend a German woman who's been creating amazing weekly vlogs detailing our Remote Year adventures.  We've spent a lot of time together over the last few weeks, so I make a lot of cameo appearances!  Check them out (and follow her!) to see what I've been up to in February:

-It's an interesting time to be abroad, especially in a predominately Muslim country.  Needless to say the problems in the U.S. don't escape me here, but my friends here from the Netherlands and Germany shared this video with me.  You can't help but laugh.  It originated in the Netherlands, but the one from Germany is pretty funny too.

If you ever have the chance to visit an orangutan sanctuary, you definitely should go.  I could watch these guys all day.  I was smiling ear to ear the whole visit.  Please do your research and make sure the sanctuary you choose is ethically responsible, like the Semmengoh Wildlife Center in Borneo, Malaysia.

I have been on some amazing, nourishing hikes this month.  This one was in Kubah National Park in Borneo.  Nature = nourishment.
